Help with Career Planning that is straightforward

When you are uncertain of your career path, the people in our career planning program can lead you in the right direction and help you to reach your full potential. To successfully make the transition from school to adult life and the world of work, young adults need guidance based on sound information including appropriate assessments that focus on the talents, knowledge, skills, interests, values, and aptitudes of each individual.

Our career planners will help you pick a career that suits your interests and abilities.  Work with you to create a career plan that provides a more formal way of thinking about your future by writing down a step-by-step process that will lead you from where you are to where you want to be.

Steps in our career plan process

  • Identifying your skills, goals and interests
  • Finding a job, course or training program related those skills, goals and interests
  • Developing a strategy to find work or training in your chosen field
  • Carrying out your plan

What we do to help you.

When we start to think about jobs and careers most of us think of what their family and friends do for a living. One of the main things a career counselor can help you do is ‘broaden your career awareness’. There are so many different studying and training options you might not even know that some of them exist.

Our Career Counselors will work with you acting as a guide through the process of choosing which career best suits you. They will begin by meeting with you to determine your skills, underlying drive, and personality traits. The counselor will gain an understanding of you and will better serve you in their search for the right career.

Or Career Counselors will obtain from you a thorough history of employment, education, skills, personality, and interests. The information is then applied in job searches using all available technology and resources. Our Career Counselors have the knowledge of the skills needed in various fields, the average salary of each field, and the requirements of each field. After they have assessed what interests you, they will then match you up with a field suitable based on your skills and personality, creating the most profitable match possible in terms of job satisfaction and monetary earnings.

Our Career Counselors will not, however, simply match you with a profession and send them on their way. They will work with you, helping you to research the right job, as well as helping to locate educational programs needed for the job desired.
